MKITM, IGNOU launch PG Diploma, certificate courses in tourism, hospitality with flexible study options

The certificate courses offered jointly by MKITM and IGNOU include Certificate in Front Office Operations (CFO), Certificate in Food and Beverage Service Operations (CFBO), and Certificate in Housekeeping Operations (CHO).
The Manyavvar Kanshiram Institute of Tourism Management (MKITM) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) have launched three certificate and one postgraduate diploma courses in the tourism and hospitality sectors. The programmes are offered through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and designed for students with flexible study options.
Eligible students can apply for the certificate and diploma courses through the official websites at mkitm.com and ignou.ac.in by February 28.

IGNOU, MKITM Certificate, Diploma: Eligibility, fee
According to the eligibility criteria for certificate courses, students should have a Class 12 pass certificate. The programmes are available in Hindi and English and the duration of each course is six months, carrying 18 credits, as per the official notification.
The course fee for the certificate programmes is Rs 3,000. Interested students will also have to remit a one-time registration fee of Rs 400. “Students will receive two months of theory training and four months of industrial training during all certificate courses,” the notification says.
Moreover, the Post Graduate Diploma in Hotel Operations (PGDHO) will only accept applications from students who have completed their bachelor’s education.
The PGDHO offers specialisation in operations and management in the hotel industry. It is also available in English and Hindi both with 48 credits.
The fee for the diploma course is Rs 9,000 with a separate registration fee of Rs 400. Students will receive four months of theory training and eight months of industrial training and internship.
Jaiveer Singh, Minister of Tourism and Culture, Uttar Pradesh, said: "Through the courses offered by MKITM, students will receive both theoretical education and industrial training. These courses are especially beneficial for students who are unable to attend regular classes. MKITM is also providing residential facilities for students. Interested students can stay and attend regular classes by paying the prescribed hostel fees."
