NCERT aims to establish distribution centres in different states to leverage CWC’s extensive warehousing network, replacing the existing system where textbooks had to be collected in bulk.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has partnered with Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) to provide integrated warehousing and logistics support across the country. The collaboration aims to establish ‘strategic distribution centres’ in different states, leveraging CWC’s extensive warehousing network.
Through this collaboration, NCERT books will be accessible to its distributors and schools, from nearby CWC warehouses, replacing the existing systems where the textbooks had to be collected in bulk only from 5 locations, saving huge cost, effort, and time.
An agreement was signed at the CWC Headquarters in New Delhi, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

The new partnership will also strengthen the distribution of the NCERT textbooks network nationwide, reduce transportation delays, and minimize transportation costs to vendors. Having easier access to distribution centres, the vendors and booksellers will be able to serve schools more efficiently, improving last-mile delivery for students.
“The agreement marks a transformative step towards building a strong logistics framework that benefits schools, students, and vendors by bringing NCERT books within easy reach across the country,” the official NCERT statement said.
The initiative will modernise textbook distribution and also create a robust, transparent, reliable supply chain. The partnership supports the government’s vision under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of providing affordable and accessible quality educational resources to every student.
