Use NowNEW DELHI: Expressing concern over the delay in the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2024, doctors urged the Union health minister JP Nadda to intervene and direct the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to expedite the admission process.
In a letter to Nadda, the United Doctors’ Front Association (UDFA) noted that NEET PG 2024 exam was conducted on August 11 and NEET PG results 2024 were declared on August 23. MCC commenced the registration process for NEET PG 2024 counselling on September 20.
However, there has been no further progress in the counselling process with no update on the last date for registration, NEET PG counselling 2024 information brochure, seat matrix, or NEET PG counselling schedule 2024. The MCC website continues to display a message that the counselling schedule will be available soon which has left aspirants in a state of prolonged uncertainty, the doctors’ body stated.
“After 45 days of the results and 15 days into the registration process, the lack of clarity and action is adding to the mental and financial stress of the students and their families. The undue delay in initiating the counselling is causing distress, and it jeopardizes the timely commencement of the academic session. In light of this critical situation, I humbly request your urgent intervention to expedite the NEET PG 2024 counselling process. The aspirants have worked diligently and deserve a streamlined process without further delays,” UDFA president Lakshya Mittal said in the letter.

They hoped for swift intervention and look forward to early resolution for the benefit of students and the healthcare sector.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is likely to hear the NEET PG case against the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on October 25. Candidates have been demanding NEET PG 2024 answer key, response sheets, individual scores, and normalization procedure used by the board.
