Now OCI aspirants for NEET UG 2023 are eligible for admission to all undergraduate medical programmes subject to rules issued by the authorities. Earlier, OCI cardholders were allowed for admission against a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) seat or a supernumerary seat only.

More than 18 lakh students had registered for the NEET UG exam last year, of which, 17.64 lakh appeared, Minister of State for health and family welfare, Bharati Pravin Pavar, said in a written reply to Lok Sabha.

Embassy of India in Qatar shared information regarding NEET UG 2023 to be held on May 7. The exam will be conducted from 11:30 am to 2:50pm (Qatar time). "The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) (UG) - 2023 in Pen and Paper mode in Doha, Qatar as per details given below," it said in a tweet.

Candidates can practise for NEET UG 2023 with the help of previous year question papers. Students can download the previous year test booklets provided by experts from Careers360 website. 

For NEET UG 2023, NTA clarified that candidates who have opted for the English language will be given English question booklet while candidates opting for Hindi or regional languages would be provided with a bilingual test booklet with one language being English.

NEET UG toppers scored same marks last year, but still they were put on different All India Ranks (AIR) because of tie-breaking policy which is as follows:

• Aspirants with higher scores or percentile in biology (botany and zoology) will be preferred first. 
• If tie exists, then the higher marks or percentile of the candidate in chemistry will be considered. 
• If the tie is still there, students with less number of incorrect and correct attempted answers will be allotted better rank. 
• Last rank on which admission is granted.

A total of 9,93,069 candidates qualified for the NEET exam making the overall percentage as 56.27% last year. A total qualified students, 4,29,160 male students qualified and 5,63,902 female candidates.

• Experts from the Vidyamandir Classes analysed the NEET UG physics section to be a mixed type. 
• According to their analysis, it is an easy section but with a higher number of calculations required for solving. There were straightforward questions too.

If religion or customs require a candidate to wear specific attire, students taking the UG medical entrance test have been asked to reach the exam centre early for thorough checking.

According to data shared by the union health ministry with Rajya Sabha on March 14, 2023, in India, there is an increase of 71% in medical colleges from 387 before 2014 to 660 as of now. There is an increase of 97% in MBBS seats from 51,348 before 2014 to 1,01,043 as of now, out of which 52,778 are available in government medical colleges and 48,265 seats are available in private medical colleges.

There is no specific dress code for NEET 2023 for girl candidates. However, scarves, tops with long sleeves, high heels, shoes with thick soles will not be allowed.

Candidates who have opted for the English language for the exam will be provided question booklet only in English while candidates opting for Hindi or regional languages would be provided with a bilingual test booklet with one language being English.

After NTA issues the NEET UG admit card, candidates will have to check the particulars including names, photograph and signatures. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate will have to immediately approach the NTA NEET UG help line between 10 am and 5 pm. In such cases, NTA added, candidates would appear in NEET UG with the already downloaded NTA hall ticket but the agency will take necessary action to make corrections in the record later.

NEET UG 2023 exam will be held from 2 pm to 5:20 pm. The NEET gate closing time is 1:30 pm.

The NEET dress code evolved from measures taken to control cheating in the NEET exam. As the only entrance test for medical education in India, it is massively competitive. The ban on large buttons and thick soles of shoes in the NEET 2023 dress code are both intended to prevent candidates from hiding bluetooth devices, cameras, notes and other material to facilitate cheating in their clothes. National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked NMC to ascertain if UG, PG medical interns are being paid prescribed stipends. "MBBS interns are paid a very low stipend of Rs 8,500 per month, out of which Rs 2,500 is deducted towards mess charges," said a complainant.

No, NTA will not be postponing the NEET UG 2023 exam. The medical exam will be held as per schedule on May 7, 2023. 

Candidates can check the NEET UG 2023 dress code for female candidates-

• Clothes with sequins, embroidery, patches, brooches, or big buttons not allowed.
• Full-sleeve clothes prohibited. 
• Footwear with high heels and thick soles are not allowed. 
• Jewellery pieces like earrings, nose pins, rings, necklaces, anklets, bracelets, or pendants also will not be allowed inside the exam hall.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved the setting up of several new government medical college in Telangana including at Kamareddy and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts. Seven out of nine medical colleges to be setup this year got permissions so far.

As per the UDISE 2020-21 report, 70 percent of schools across the country have ramps for children with special needs. In Kerala, 73 percent of schools have ramps for students with disability. However, only 24.25 percent of schools in India have disability-friendly toilets and Kerala’s record, 21.3 percent, is even lower.

Any request to change the NEET question paper medium, examination centre, date and time provided on the NEET admit card 2023 will not be considered under any circumstances, NTA said.

The NEET UG 2023 admit card link will get activated at neet.nta.nic.in 2023. Candidates can expect NEET admit card 2023 anytime soon.

The nta.ac.in is hosting the NEET mock test 2023 links. NEET mock tests will let the candidates get accustomed with the paper pattern.

After NTA issues the NEET UG hall ticket at neet.nta.nic.in, medical aspirants will have to check the particulars in the admit card, photograph and signatures. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate will have to approach the NTA NEET help line between 10 am and 5 pm. Candidates will, however, have to appear in NEET UG 2023 on May 7 with the already downloaded NEET hall ticket 2023.  NTA will take necessary action to make corrections in the record later.

The NEET 2023 date is May 7. While several students have been demanding postponement, NTA is set to conduct the NEET UG 2023 on May 7. The NEET exam city allotment slips are already issued at neet.nta.nic.in.

The Department of Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh has announced to add 1,300 MBBS seats in government medical colleges in the state. Moreover, 13 new medical colleges will begin the first academic session from this year 2023-24.

Question: When will NEET 2023 admit card release?

Answer: The NTA has not announced any NEET 2023 admit card release date. As the medical entrance test is only four days away, candidates can expect the NEET UG admit card anytime soon.

NTA will be conducting NEET UG 2023 in 485 exam cities across India and 14 exam cities abroad. Last year, the medical entrance exam was held in 543 exam cities. Although the number of NEET 2023 exam cities outside India has remained the same, the test cities in India have been reduced by 58 cities.

• Through NEET UG 2023, admission to a total of  99,763 MBBS, 27,868 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 525 BVSc and AH seats including 1,899 AIIMS and 249 JIPMER seats  will be granted. 
• After the exam, the NTA will be releasing the NEET UG results. 
• The students that successfully clear the exam will then be eligible to participate in the NEET UG Counselling 2023 to get admissions in medical colleges across India. 

According to the "Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023" draft policy, NMC will be conducting the NEET UG exam or will be allotting the authority to multiple agencies to hold the UG medical exam.

Candidates can login into the neet.nta.nic.in candidate portal using their NEET registration number, date of birth and password.

Candidates can login in to the NEET UG candidates portal using application number, date of birth and security pin to download the NEET UG 2023 city slip.

 “Though every effort will be made to allot a Centre in one of the cities selected by the candidate, the NTA reserves the right to allot a centre in a city other than the candidate’s choice,” read NEET 2023 information bulletin.

The NEET UG 2023 rank card is valid for one year only. 

NMC's effort to include training in AYUSH courses saw criticism from doctor's bodies such as IMA, FAIMA and FORDA. The doctor's bodies rejected this draft regulation saying that this move will promote 'mixopathy.'

NEET aspirants can download their NEET UG 2023 exam city slip from the official website- neet.nta.nic.in. 

NTA has not released an official date for NEET UG 2023 admit card yet. However, the agency is expected to release the admit card soon. 

An overview of the NRI quota admission in NEET UG 2020 showed that NRI students who barely made the NEET cut-off list were able to pay their way into MBBS seats and in turn compromising 'merit' in the exam.

Candidates can check their allotted NEET UG centers through the NEET UG city slip on the official website. The NEET UG exam city slip will contain the name of the city in which the candidate's exam centre will be located. 

Foreign medical graduates (FMG) are required to complete a one or two year mandatory hospital rotation to practice medicine in India. However, such students are currently unable to complete their internship term due to a lack of seats.

NTA has not made any responses to the students that have asked postponement of the medical exam. The agency is set to hold the NEET UG 2023 exam on May 7, as per schedule. Students have began signing petitions to postpone the exam for a month.
