NIOS 12th exam 2021 June cancelled; Evaluation to be based on objective criteria

NEW DELHI: National Institute of Open Schooling has cancelled the NIOS Class 12 exams of June 2021. The NIOS Class 12 result 2021 will be evaluated on the basis of objective criteria which is to be developed by the board. The result will be declared by NIOS soon.

Students who will not be satisfied with the NIOS result, will be given another chance to appear in public exams or On-Demand examinations (ODE), once the situation normalizes.

Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in a recent tweet announced, “Keeping the safety and security of our students on priority, NIOS cancels class 12 examinations. Students will be evaluated based on objective criteria to be announced soon. This will benefit around 1.75 Lakhs students.’

The official notification released by NIOS reads, the Public Examinations in Theory and Practical of Sr. Secondary Courses scheduled in June 2021 are hereby cancelled. The NIOS will devise a well defined objective criteria for assessment in a time bound manner.

Any learner who is not satisfied with the assessment will be given an option to appear in Public examinations or through On-Demand Examination (ODE) as and when situation becomes conducive to hold the examinations. In such circumstances, the result of the concerned learner in Public Examinations or in ODE will be treated as Final, the NIOS latest notification 2021 added.

After the review meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many educational boards like CBSE, ICSE, and other state boards have cancelled the examinations.
