Rajasthan education department issues guidelines on identification, enrolment of CWSN students

NEW DELHI: The Rajasthan school education department has issued guidelines for survey, identification and enrolment of Children with Special Needs (CWSN) in schools.
According to an official notification from the department, all schools have to complete the process of conducting a survey on CWSN students and their identification within the months of December 2021 and January 2022.

Special teachers and reference persons working under the Chief Block Education Officer (CBEO) will conduct the survey of such students.
By dividing the entire area of the block amongst themselves by the special teacher working under CBEO, survey, marking, and enrollment and entry on various portals will be done, it said.
During visits to CWSN schools, science teachers, pti, and class teachers will identify and mark such students who have not been identified, it said.
The education department has asked to provide category wise and disability level (mild, moderate, severe, profound) list of such students to the head of the respective schools.

The department will make sure to enroll all out of school, drop-out and unidentified CWSN students in schools.
The department has asked to ensure that all such students are enrolled in nearby schools, and their entry is done on shala darpan, UDISE+ portals so that no such students is left without enrolment.
