NEW DELHI: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will now be regulating undergraduate courses in management and computer applications in addition to the postgraduate programmes. The change will come into effect from the next academic year.
The University Grants Commission informed about the AICTE’s decision. “Till date, the AICTE was regulating only the post graduate programmes in management (MBA) and computer applications (MCA). However, from next academic year, AICTE has decided to regulate institutions offering BBA, BMS, and BCA courses in view of maintaining uniform quality and academic standards across management and computer applications programs on the similar lines of post graduate courses/ programmes (MCA/MBA),” it said in an official notice.
