Dr K Radhakrishnan, who currently heads the high powered steering committee formed to oversee the implementation of recommendations related to the National Testing Agency (NTA), participated in the discussions along with senior officials from the Ministry of Education and the NTA. The meeting was also attended by the Higher Education Secretary, NTA Director General, and other senior representatives.
During the review, NTA officials presented details of the additional steps being taken to strengthen exam security and ensure smooth conduct of the re-examination. Discussions included a detailed assessment of the current surveillance systems and plans to further enhance monitoring mechanisms at examination centres.

Emphasising the importance of maintaining the integrity of the examination process, Dharmendra Pradhan stated that strict security arrangements must be complemented with proper facilities and a student-friendly atmosphere at centres across the country.
NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: Pradhan asks states to ensure strict measure
Ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, the Education Minister also wrote a letter to Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of all states and Union Territories, urging them to ensure strict security arrangements and smooth conduct of the exam. In the letter, he requested state administrations to extend full support in maintaining law and order, preventing malpractice, and ensuring a fair examination environment for students appearing across the country.
The letter reads, “In view of the prevailing heatwave conditions, I request you to kindly issue appropriate instructions to the District Authorities and all schools, colleges, universities, and other institutions hosting the examination in your State/UT to ensure the availability of essential basic amenities for the convenience of candidates. These may include safe drinking water, adequate seating arrangements, functional fans/coolers, clean washrooms, shaded waiting areas, uninterrupted electricity supply, and portable toilets, wherever required."

The NEET-UG re-examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 21, 2026, and will be held at more than 5,400 examination centres spread across 550 cities nationwide.
