Education ministry launches 7th edition of Smart India Hackathon, register till September 12

K Sanjay Murthy launched the 7th edition of the Smart India Hackathon. Participants can register on the official website, sih.gov.in.
NEW DELHI : The secretary K Sanjay Murthy, of the Department of Higher Education (DHE), launched the seventh edition of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) today on August 8. Interested participants in HEIs across India can register until September 12, 2024. The new edition was launched through video conferencing at AICTE Headquarters, New Delhi.
The event was attended by AICTE chairman professor TG Sitharam, and vice chairman, Abhay Jere. Sitharama, speaking highly of the programme, urged the attendees to use the platform to empower innovation and to actively support the "Vikasit Bharat" vision. The programme is being sponsored by the Godrej Group.

Murthy, addressing the pivotal role of the National Education Policy (NEP) highlighted the contribution of SHI towards fostering and enhancing academic collaborations. He also called upon students to participate in developing innovative solutions to build a sustainable future.
About Smart India Hackathon (SIH)
The seventh edition of the SIH gives a diverse array of 202 problem statements contributed by 20 central ministries, 5 state governments, 3 public sector undertakings, and 3 private organizations.
SIH, organized by the education ministry, gives practical solutions to students setting high standards for innovation and entrepreneurship.
