AICTE, AVPL International launch 47 AeroVision Drone Labs; offers hands-on experience in drone technology

The drone labs will offer drone pilot certification, support for drone training, and also function as a research hub for drone technology. The labs will operate in AICTE-approved institutions.
NEW DELHI : The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in partnership with an aerospace company AVPL International launched 47 AeroVision Drone Labs. The initiative aims to equip students and faculty with knowledge and skills in drone technology, paving the way for leadership in this domain.
AICTE selected one institution in Daman and Diu to promote innovation in underserved regions. The achievement demonstrates AICTE’s commitment to advance technical education and make the technology accessible all over the nation, the official AICTE statement said.
According to the AICTE’s official statement, integrating drone technology into education will lead to the next wave of technological advancements and reinforce India’s position as a global leader in drone technology.
47 Drone Labs in AICTE-approved institutions
The drone labs supported in AICTE-approved institutions are set to become centers of education and offer:

DGCA-certified programmes: Training in drone pilot certification, Kisan Drone Operator Training, and drone technician courses.

Government-sponsored initiatives: Includes impactful programmes like Namo Drone Didi to expand the reach of drone training.

Regional support hubs: The selected institutions will serve as technical centers for drone maintenance and services.

Research and Innovation: The top-performing labs will turn into research hubs to foster innovation and add new applications in drone technology.
The AICTE chairman, TG Sitharam shared his vision at the launch and said: “I am delighted to recognize the first 47 institutions selected for the First Phase of this visionary initiative. The inclusion of Daman and Diu is especially noteworthy, symbolizing AICTE’s dedication to promoting innovation in less explored areas. Together, we are not only keeping pace with the future but actively shaping it, contributing to India’s vision of an “Unnat and Viksit Bharat.”
