The CBSE Class 12 question paper 2025 did not include any out of the syllabus topics. The duration of CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper 2025 was 3 hours. As per the CBSE Class 12 Chemistry question paper 2025, some of the high weightage topics were - electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, biomolecules, aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids.
The CBSE Class 12 chemistry exam 2025 was conducted from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The CBSE Class 12 exams 2025 are being conducted in 7,842 centres. A total of 17,88,165 students are appearing for CBSE Class 12 board exams. The CBSE Class 12 exams 2025 on April 4.

The CBSE Class 12 Chemistry exam 2025 was rated as 'moderate difficulty'. The CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper 2025 included a balanced mix of conceptual, application-based and numerical questions. As per reports, students found the organic chemistry section relatively easy in CBSE Class 12 Chemistry paper 2025.
As per subject experts, CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper 2025 required conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. Students who studied NCERT textbooks and practiced previous years’ question papers found the CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper manageable
Khushi Mittal, student of Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, said, "The Chemistry Paper was moderate and based on NCERT. The numericals were straight forward. The definitions were more than expected. I found a problem in the case study."
CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Paper 2025 Analysis: Feedback and reactions
Sonam Chauhan, Chemistry educator at JAIN International Residential School, found the CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper 'well balanced'. According to Chauhan, in CBSE Class 12 Chemistry exam, the objective section was straight forward, and short-answer questions were moderately challenging, requiring conceptual clarity and calculations.
"Overall, the paper was fair and well-distributed across various topics. It provided a good challenge for students who had thoroughly studied the syllabus and had strong problem-solving skills. While some questions required deep conceptual understanding, the paper avoided overly tricky or out-of-syllabus questions, ensuring that it tested knowledge and application in a fair manner,” said Chauhan.
Sarita Khokhar, HOD Chemistry at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, stated that the exam had a mix of easy to moderate questions, all based on the NCERT syllabus. Students who thoroughly studied NCERT and practiced previous questions found it manageable.
"From Section C, some Students found Electrochemistry (3 mark) questions challenging, which was based on theory. All sections were moderate in terms of difficulty level. The case study-based question subpart (2 marks) had an error and students were confused because of that. Numerical calculations were simple and required little effort," said Khokhar.

CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam 2025: Passing marks
‘According to the CBSE Class 12 passing marks 2025, students are required to secure 33% in total to clear the board exams. Additionally, students will be required to score 33% separately in practical as well as theory papers to pass the CBSE Class 12 exams 2025. In CBSE Class 12 Chemistry exam 2025, internal assessment carries 30 marks and maximum marks in theory paper is 70 marks.
The board will hold the CBSE Class 12 board exams 2026 once a year, following the existing format. Approximately 20 lakh students are expected to appear for the CBSE Class 12 exams 2025, which will be conducted based on the current syllabus and textbooks. The CBSE Class 12 exams 2026 will be held from February 17 to April 4.
