NIOS Certificate Course 2025: The bridge course helps primary teachers design age-appropriate pedagogy. It covers classroom diversity, curricular planning, assessment, and teaching-learning strategies for children.
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has extended the last date for registration under the 6-month certificate course (Bridge) in primary teacher education. As per the official notice, the revised deadline for in-service primary teachers to complete registration for the NIOS bridge course is January 19, 2026.
The NIOS 6 Months certificate course aims to help primary teachers understand the learning process of primary school children, design age-appropriate pedagogies, organise curricular experiences, and address diversities in classrooms, including language, gender, disability, and socio-economic context.
The certificate course is mandatory for teachers appointed on the basis of a Bachelor of Education (BEd) qualification between June 28, 2018, and August 11, 2023. Teachers who fail to complete the course within the prescribed timeframe risk invalidation of their appointment. The course will not be valid for teachers seeking future employment as primary teachers.
To register for the course, candidates will have to submit a recent passport-size photograph, signature, and BEd marksheet or certificate, appointment letter, and a self-declaration certificate certified by the concerned school principal.

NIOS Bridge Course 2025: Exam fee
Candidates seeking admission are required to pay a one-time registration and admission fee of Rs 25,000. This fee covers the cost of registration as well as the examination fee for the first session.
For subsequent examinations, candidates will have to pay an additional fee of Rs 600 for each theory subject they choose to appear in.
For practical subjects, the additional examination fee is Rs.250 per subject. The NIOS states that all payments made through the online portal will incur an additional charge of Rs 70 per transaction. This structure ensures that candidates are only charged for the subjects they register for and facilitates online payment processing.
