NEW DELHI: Scored low in CBSE Class 12 board exams 2025? Fret not. Marks do not define a person’s capability and there are umpteen number of career options to pursue after 12th. From skill-based courses and ITI courses which will immediately land you a job to language courses and open universities with a vast list of programmes, you can step into any direction and find a place that values you. The Central Board of Secondary Education declared CBSE 12th result 2025 today, seeing a slight improvement in the performance of students. 88.39% candidates cleared the exams this year. While Vijayawada region emerged as the top performing region, students from Telangana gave the best results.

Career options after 12th for low-scorers

Here are several career options and courses after 12th for those who scored low in board exams:

Skill-based courses, diploma

Students can consider the following courses after Class 12 that do not require high marks:

  • Diploma in Digital Marketing
  • Graphic Design or Animation
  • Photography or Videography
  • Web Development or App Development
  • Fashion Designing
  • Event Management
  • Hotel Management
  • Automobile or Electrical Engineering (Polytechnic)

ITIs

The Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) offer courses that focus on hands-on training in different trades and technical fields. Some of the popular ITI trades are given below.

  • Electrician
  • Fitter

  • Computer Hardware Technician
  • Automobile Mechanic

Competitive exams

Some government exams only require Class 12 eligibility. Students can consider appearing for the following exams directly after 12th to secure government jobs:

  • SSC CHSL (Clerical jobs)
