Jamia Millia Islamia reopening for pre-final year classes notice is fake, clarifies JMI: Report
The fake notice claims that pre-final year classes will begin from April 1, and students will get study break from March 25.

NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia has warned students against a fake notice doing rounds on social media claiming that university will reopen for physical classes for pre-final year students from April 1, according to an Indian Express report.
The university said that the notice is fake and the instructions, dates given in the notice are not valid, as per the report.

”Citing to the sub-point (v) of point 3 of the notice Gen. 567 released on 14.02.2022, a meeting was conducted with the Dean of the Faculties under the Chairpersonship of Vice-Chancellor and the Chief Proctor, to make decisions on the reopening of the pre-final university classes & conduct of examinations in the physical mode,” the fake notice read, said the report.
According to the fake notice, “the pre-final year classes will begin in the physical mode from April 1 before which a study break from March 25 till the aforementioned date will be provided to make arrangements for travel and accommodation.”

The fake notice further read, “Hostlers will be contacted beforehand by the administration to inform them about occupancy status in advance. Make sure to carry a fresh RTPCR report (max of 3 days old ) and follow the covid protocols for your own safety measures. Any other related information would be passed on via further notices.”
Jamia Millia Islamia announced on February 14 that physical classes for final-year postgraduate students will resume from March 2 and for final-year undergraduate students from mid-March.

In an order, the university administration said the university will open in a phased manner taking into consideration the travel time of outstation students who require necessary preparation to reach Delhi, but added that the hostels will not open till COVID-19 protocols are in place.
However, no decision has been announced regarding the resumption of offline classes for intermediate years for UG and PG courses.
