NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) will close the registration window for Kolkata Police constable recruitment 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can fill the application form by visiting the official website at wbpolice.gov.in. Candidates will have the chance to edit their information on the application form from April 1 to April 7.
The Kolkata police recruitment drive 2024 aims to fill a total of 3,734 constable vacancies, including 3,464 for male constables and 270 for female constables. The Kolkata Police constable recruitment 2024 selection process includes a preliminary written test that serves as a screening exam, followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), final written examination, and an interview round.
The candidate's age should fall within the range of 18 to 30 years. However, there are certain relaxations in the upper age limit for specific categories. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates can avail of a relaxation of up to 5 years, while Other Backward Classes-A and Other Backward Classes-B candidates are eligible for a 3-year relaxation. Transgender will also get a 3-year relaxation, and Civic Volunteers are entitled to a relaxation of up to 5 years in their upper age limit.
Kolkata Police Constable Recruitment 2024: Preliminary exam pattern
The preliminary exam will include a total of 100 questions divided into three sections- General awareness, mathematics and reasoning. The prelims paper will include objective type questions only. The duration of the paper will be 1 hour. The medium of the paper will be in Bengali and Nepali except questions on English language. The marks of the preliminary examination will not be used to prepare the final merit list, it is for screening purpose. Candidates will receive 1 mark for each correct answer and one fourth of the marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
